This is a very homogeneous variety of mineral coal, with great hardness, a grey-black color, and a shiny appearance when broken.
Extracted from mines, it contains 92 to 95% carbon, making it one of the highest quality coals.
With a low volatile matter content (>8%), it burns steadily with few flames.
It is highly sought after due to its numerous applications; it is particularly valued for domestic heating.
